Shropshire Patients’ Group
We are a volunteer network, part of the Shropshire wide patient network, that represents, supports and encourages Patient Participation Groups in medical practices in Shropshire. The Patient Group Network operates in 3 distinct layers:
- Patient Participation Group (PPG) – each Medical Practice.
- Locality Patient Group – representatives from all PPG’s in a Locality, aligned with Locality Boards, considers locality-wide initiatives, proposed changes and issues.
- Shropshire Patients Group – representatives from PPG’s and Locality Patient Groups, aligned with Shropshire CCG. Represents the Patient Group Network at county level, especially at the Public and Patient Engagement Committee which is chaired by the non-executive lead for Patient and Public Involvement, and advises the Board when changes to services are proposed.
Our Mission is to represent, support and encourage a consolidated patient voice and, to secure the best health care within the Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group (SCCG) area.
Membership – each Patient Participation Group (PPG) has membership of Shropshire Patients’ Group (SPG). PPGs may enroll as many members as they wish into SPG but attendance at meetings is usually limited to 2 members and one vote per PPG.
